Jo is a fully qualified Therapeutic Counsellor based at Welwyn Counselling in Welwyn village.

She sees male and female adult clients of all ages. Clients attend for a variety of reasons, often issues relating to Depression, Anxiety, relationship difficulties, and life stage circumstances. Clients are offered an initial taster session and then attend for as many sessions as they choose.

She uses an Integrative Counselling Model that involves drawing upon various Counselling traditions and methods, combining them in a way that best suits the individual needs of clients. She works by establishing a good Therapeutic relationship built on trust, encouraging clients to reflect on their behaviour and emotional responses, helping them better understand the connection between thoughts, actions and behaviour.  She helps clients to challenge negative thought patterns and develop strategies for coping with difficult situations and the feelings evoked by them.

Jo feels passionately about making Counselling more accessible and is particularly keen to help potential clients explore whether Counselling could be useful for them and therefore provides an initial Taster session at a reduced fee.
